I had the privilege to shoot Maureen and Soli’s wedding at West Auckland this month. I teamed up with my buddy Ian Labajo and his wife of Ian Designs + Multimedia who were in charge of the wedding film. Do check out their amazing videos here.
The wedding ceremony was short and simple. The family members and entourage were all dressed up in their formal attire while the guests were in their colourful wear and some with flower crowns.
Everyone gathered up in the reception hall after the ceremony. And oh boy it was a feast! A large number of people had turned up and it was like the whole Samoan community in Auckland gathered all together for this joyous wedding event. There were plenty of food and drinks. The entourage and wedding couple came dancing on their way to the stage. There were cultural dance performances from their family and friends too.
One of the highlights was the performance of the Samoan traditional dance group, Tatau. The audience were entertained by their energetic moves mixed with contemporary music.
It was fun and a great experience shooting this wedding. Good food, good people, good times! Congratulations guys!
